Daniel B. Prieto is a seasoned executive and a recognized national security and cybersecurity subject matter expert with a record of leadership and innovation in government, the technology sector, on Wall Street, and leading think tanks and universities. He has served as a senior policymaker at the White House, the Department of Defense, and on Capitol Hill. He has deep strategy, technology, consulting, finance, management, and operating experience at IBM, America Online/Time Warner, and J.P Morgan. He has held fellowship appointments at Harvard University, Stanford University, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Dan is founder and CEO of Incubate, LLC (a cybersecurity advisory firm) and is an external Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Co., providing strategic advice on enterprise IT and cybersecurity to McKinsey clients. He is also an adjunct Senior Research Scholar at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. Previously, Dan served in the Obama White House as Director for Cybersecurity Policy on the National Security Council staff, and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense as Chief Technology Officer in the office of the DOD CIO. On Capitol Hill, he helped stand up the Committee on Homeland Security in the U.S. House of Representatives. In industry, Dan was a Vice President at IBM, and has served as a strategist or advisor on over $150B in M&A transactions for J.P. Morgan and AOL.
